my week off is slowly destroying me in good ways as well as bad. took monty to his first endurance ride this weekend and lived to tell the tale of the busy-ness at mockingbird, the steep cardiac and later the rollercoasting hacienda trails. we started out at 6:30, myself working on 3 hours of sleep as i was kept up by the meyous of peacocks and hee-haws of a lonely donkey. there were far too many horses... a controlled 3 mile start through pavement and suburbs, continuous bunching up at water troughs, and a pedestrian filled park all collaborated to slow us down. we finished comfortably at 11:00. moreover, i was not decapitated by monty running me through trees. odds were 2 to 1 i would be.

i've kept riding through the week, and its taking a toll on me. i've never ridden at this low a weight, the reason why now becoming evident to me. after a daily ride, i can't manage to do any of the much needed work here that i had planned to do over break: refence two pastures, repair parts of the roof that have blown off, hang a new gate, and replace all downed corral boards. sigh. i replaced washers on the faucets outside that leaked though. and i hauled some old metal pipe to the dump yesterday where i saw one of the landfill workers push a toilet off the pedestal of a fridge it was placed upon. the toilet of course shattered, a spectacle i took far too much delight in watching.

played roll the ball back and forth with angela on monday. the funnest part of the week, by far. she gets so excited as she anticipates someone's rolling the ball back to her. she stays extremely focused and her arms go up in the air in preparation. i think meg and jerry are planning on having another baby soon. i'm so far from where they are in life. we would be talking light years if i could afford to pay the electric bill.

can't really think well today. had meant for this to be a meaningful entry in some way. intention alone should supposedly give it meaning, but i didn't intend for it to mean so very little. what else can i add to beef up the substance?

well, i treated myself to the new vogue magazine yesterday. i've never read vogue before, and i felt a huge middle class style of disappointment when i finally did. i think vogue should be boycotted. boycott vogue.
